First of all I just want to apologize for not blogging recently. The month of May has been extremely busy! Myself and Nancy Deleeuw are in the final process of putting a book together, you can check it out but clicking on the attached links to the 100 Huntley episode I was on with Moira Brown ( This is the first half http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAFe9tWzap4 , this is the second half of the interview http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USs5_dnUVLg. I then shared my story at Compass Point Bible Church on Mother’s Day, and included my beautiful Mother. I never realized how much work goes into a speaking engagement. Everything had to be timed perfectly and the presentations to go with the sermon had to be timed as well. Let me tell you, I have a new appreciation for my pastor (Michael Pawelke) and all the work that goes into Sunday mornings. I shared my story of becoming a Mother. If you have time I would be honoured for you to have a listen. Thank you so much.

So today was a big day. Nancy Deleeuw (graphic designer and great friend) and I are in the final stages of developing a book that has been on my heart for the past 10 years. It is called Unexpected Love. I was a guest on 100 Huntley Street this morning and with just minutes to spare my husband showed up with the book. He had to track down a FED EX truck with the book on it. He brought it to the set with’in 20 minutes of going on air. What a crazy morning. Anyways…a big THANK YOU to FED EX who made it possible to have the book for the show. They bent over backwards for us! It will be ready for sale in the next 12-16 weeks. We will keep you posted on a regular basis the pre-order date and where it will be available. Here are a few photographs of the show. Thank you Eden for taking these pictures. This is my sister Laurie and her husband Terry. This session was her 35th birthday present (she is now 37) that she just redeemed! We had a lot of fun! Stay tuned…more to come!

O.K. so here is the scoop. My husband has called me about four times now to come and rescue him. He has run out of gas on many occasions about 5 minutes from home. He always thinks he can make it..but never the less, the car stops. The last time (just last year) I had my camera in the car because I was on my way to a photo shoot…so I thought I would take the opportunity to document the event. Well he called again last night. “Jules, I ran out of gas, and I’m not kidding.” I still thought he was joking, because… REALLY? So I grabbed my camera and off I went. It was so funny when he saw me taking pictures! He commented “oh, no…I think I was even wearing the same shirt as last time!” Take a look…this was one of the pics from last year…

The following were taken last night…

The concerned look here was because he thought I could get hit by a car.

My daughter Jessica just started competitive swimming with the Dolphin swim club. She LOVES it! Today was the first day that I had some time to photograph her swimming…take a look.

This is Alehandra..she is such a cutie!

We just took a little trip to Ottawa. It was a trip planned by my husband for my 35th birthday. We had a great time. Here are a few shots captured while I was there.

This is the night Canada won. What a fantastic night! This was the view from our Hotel room a few hours after.

I just wanted to show you all how thoughtful the two girls I work with on a daily basis are. You see, I am turning 35 on Saturday, yes 35. I don’t know how I feel about it yet. We will have to see. 30 was very hard for me and now 35???? This morning while I was up making coffee, Ingrid and Eden made this beautiful display on my desk. It almost brought tears to my eyes. Just kidding! It brought me the biggest SMILE ever because cupcakes are my absolute favourite. They even made my favourite Cherry Bit with vanilla icing and sprinkles. It is now 6:25pm and there is only one lonely one left with the letter A sitting beside me.

This is Ingrid for those of you who have heard her beautiful voice, but not seen her beautiful face.

This is the three of us! The Vine Images Team!
“Whatido” is an exciting new program designed to celebrate both the personal and professional calling of christian men and women in their workplace. I was asked to be featured in a segment last November and now the show is moving to a new half hour program. Brigitte Foisy and I will be on the first episode. For those of you who do not know, I was a very rebellious teen with a lot of anger toward my family. I was out of control and into many things that I shouldn’t have been…. which led to being kicked out of my home at the age of 15. At 18 (still very angry & rebellious) I attended a church play with my Dad and at the end I realized my need for Jesus and asked him to come into my life. A year and four months later, after a lot of searching and analyzing, my life was dramatically changed. I felt God’s Love in my life and was instantly healed of all of my addictions, anger, and bad habits. I was a new person through Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). My parents couldn’t be happier as I asked them for forgiveness for the way that I had treated them. Their angry bitter child was now a new person full of LOVE , JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, KINDNESS, GENTLENESS and SELF CONTROL. (Don’t get me wrong…I am still FAR from perfect) I went back to school, got a full time job, met my eventual husband (Jesus had also changed his life), got married, and had three beautiful children in a very short amount of time (three kids in two and a half years). I fell instantly in love with them and wanted to document every moment of their life on film. I would set up backdrops, and take photo after photo but never thought of it as a career until a girlfriend of mine from up north come over for a play date with her son. She was showing pictures that she had done by a professional photographer in her home studio. I took a look and said “WOW, I can do better than these ….This is it! This is what I am going to do!” It has now been 8 years since my business was established and I ‘ve been priveledged to be voted number one in Burlington for the last four years for best Photographer and best studio. Thank you so much to all who have supported me throughout the years! The name “Vine Images” comes from the Scripture verse John 15:5. ”I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” All the images that I capture are of God’s creation (God’s Images) and I love it!!!! People are beautiful!!! If you would like to read my full story please go to Pages Link Above and then click on “My Story”. Here are a few pictures of the taping.
I would love to hear from you! If you could take some time to email me or make a comment below I would greatly appreciate it! (please note that comments take a day to process.)
