Chris + Tara {ENGAGED} by Engagement Photographer Julie Johnson

This was such a fun session! Thank you Tara & Chris for being such great sports! Can’t wait for the wedding!

Joni - Man, this guy can pull off so many looks! Great photos! Love the intimate feel to them. My FAVE is the one where they are in bed and he has his finger to his lips shushing her. LOVE it! (not b/c it looks like he's shushing her but b/c it looks as though something funny has happened. They have a secret and only they know it).August 18, 2010 - 1:28 pm

Julie Johnson - Thanks so much for your comment Joni! It was such a fun session!August 18, 2010 - 1:46 pm

“The Pirate Ship” in Jordan Harbour, St. Catharines, ON

Some of you may have seen this ship before, it is only a few metres from the Queen Elizabeth Highway on the way to Niagara Falls.  It was a bit of a surprise when we saw it for the first time. My kids like to call it the the Pirate Ship. It has been in Jordan Harbour, at the Beacon Hotel marina, since 1997.  The story has it that the ship was built in Lauzon, Quebec, 1914 and was originally used as a St. Lawrence River ferry. It was called Le Progress. In 1991 a wooden facade was built over the steel hull and the masts and crows nests were added to make her look like Jacques Cartier’s 1535 ship Le Grande Hermine. She was re-named Le Grande Hermine and used as a restaurant in Montreal. After a few moves and some unpaid dock-age fees, she was towed to her present location where she has been ever since. A fire in 2003 burned off all the wood finishing. On Easter weekend, a few of my girlfriends and I took our kids over to see it up close for the first time. I brought my camera…take a look…

“Willow’s Whispers” by Lana Button, Illustrated by Tania Howells- Book Launch Party

10-word review: Willow knew what she wanted, but had to find her voice

I had the pleasure of meeting Lana when she came in for a headshot. First of all I LOVED her name! Great for what she does! I was so excited to hear about her book that she would be releasing in the near future. “Willow’s Whispers”. I could not wait to celebrate with her at her book launch party. I took my camera to capture the event. Congratulations Lana!

Kiwi Magazine Review: Everyone assumed that Willow agreed because she never complained and she never said a word. But, Willow wanted to be the line leader. She made a magic microphone out of a tp tube and magically finds her voice and speaks up for herself. When the magic microphone breaks, Willow realizes that she could speak up without any magic. The text is well-written and age-appropriate, and the illustrations are whimsical and appealing. Any child who has a little trouble speaking up for him or herself might just find their own voice with the help of this book.

Here are some images of her party…

Lana Button - Julie, you are a truly gifted person! I can't thank you enough for these unbelievable photos! They are stunning!! And the fact that you took time on a Sunday afternoon to come out and take them says so much about not only your talent but also your incredibly kind spirit!! Thank you!March 22, 2010 - 7:49 pm

Julie Johnson - Thank you so much Lana. I would not have missed it! Congratulations! I'm so happy for you!March 22, 2010 - 7:53 pm

Mary Yardley - Even a 'magic microphone' couldn't help me to find words to do justice to these pictures. Thank you for sharing them.March 22, 2010 - 9:26 pm

Rochelle Douris - These are beautiful photos. Vivid, bright and filled with joy, just like Lana herself.March 22, 2010 - 11:23 pm

Cathy Faulkner - What beautiful pictures taken of Lana at her book launch. They are crisp and clear and certainly capture the moment of that day. It helps tell the story of Lana's excitement and success.March 23, 2010 - 1:22 pm
